Clark Wilson LLP is seeking an experienced and motivated Paralegal to join our Commercial Real Estate department. The workplace environment is friendly and supportive and the successful candidate will take ownership of a challenging and rewarding workload.

An ideal candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and will possess skills, qualifications and experience that include the following:

  • graduate of a recognized Paralegal program;
  • recent experience as a paralegal at an intermediate to senior level with expertise in the area of commercial real estate transactions, including commercial and industrial land development;
  • managing commercial real estate property transactions from start to finish;
  • the ability to confidently execute and review due diligence searches, including Land Title and BC Corporate Registry searches that involve complex corporate structures;
  • experience with commercial lending transactions an asset;
  • familiarity and understanding of trust accounting principles; and
  • the ability to manage a variety of incoming requests and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.

Additionally, candidates will also possess the following attributes:

  • a client centered approach, with excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
  • the ability to handle the volume of a busy practice;
  • excellent organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail; the ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and handle a high level of responsibility;
  • proficiency with Word and Excel;
  • strong analytical and drafting skills, with the ability to identify potential legal issues; and
  • the ability to work both independently, and as part of a large collegial team.

Clark Wilson LLP is seeking a junior to intermediate Paralegal or Conveyancer to join our Commercial Real Estate practice group. The workplace environment is friendly and supportive and the successful candidate will take ownership of a challenging and rewarding workload.

An ideal candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and will possess skills, qualifications and experience that include the following:

  • graduate of an accredited paralegal program;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working as a paralegal or conveyancer;
  • experience with project conveyancing for developers would be an asset;
  • strong technical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • the ability to manage a variety of incoming requests and prioritize workload to meet deadlines;
  • the ability to handle stringent deadlines and the volume of a busy practice; and
  • excellent organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

Additionally, candidates will also possess the following attributes:

Clark Wilson LLP is seeking an intermediate Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Technology and Intellectual Property practice group.

Ideal candidates for this position will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and will possess skills, qualifications and experience that include the following:

  • graduate of an accredited legal administrative assistant program;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a legal environment supporting a business solicitor, particularly in a technology and intellectual property practice group;
  • strong technical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • the ability to draft documents pertaining to intellectual property files;
  • the ability to handle stringent deadlines and the volume of a busy practice;
  • excellent organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail;
  • the ability to build rapport with the team, and provide support to solicitors, legal administrative assistants and paralegals; and
  • general administrative duties as required.

Clark Wilson is also seeking an experienced and motivated Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant to join our float team.

The ideal candidate will provide legal and administrative support to lawyers in a litigation practice which includes:

  • Setting court dates, discoveries and communicating with registries
  • Arranging court filings and applications
  • Preparing and drafting various correspondence and court pleadings
  • Maintaining an efficient file management and bring forward system
  • Maintaining full calendar, email management and managing lawyers’ practice
  • Liaise with legal assistants, paralegals, other lawyers and clients on file progress
  • General administrative duties as required

Candidates for this position will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and will possess skills, qualifications and experience that include the following:

  • Graduate of an accredited legal administrative assistant program
  • Strong technical skills with 3 or more years as a Legal Assistant
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities required to prioritize a high volume of tasks and competing priorities
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to strict deadlines
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Dedicated to providing service beyond expectation
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and adaptable to the needs of each

Clark Wilson LLP is seeking an experienced and Trust Clerk to join our busy Finance and Accounting Team.

Ideal candidates for this position will possess skills and work experience that include the following:

  • Processing of trust account receipts, disbursements and wire transfers
  • Responding to trust accounting queries
  • Completing daily trust and office bank account reconciliations
  • Understanding trust accounting processes, provincial law society rules and ensuring compliance
  • Running and submitting reports for various key clients
  • Assisting the finance team with various ad hoc tasks and projects
  • Other accounting duties, as required
